Jager in Crypto: The Experienced Traders

Jager is the smallest unit of a Binance (BNB) coin.

What is Jager?

Jager is the smallest denomination of BNB, divided by 8 decimal places. Jager is named after the Telegram account of Binance community manager. 1 Jager = 0.00000001 BNB.

Cryptocurrencies have digital assets created from strings of code that can be divided into smaller pieces. One part of a bitcoin is called a satoshi, after the mysterious bitcoin founder Satoshi Nakamoto. Each Satoshi is one hundred millionth of a bitcoin, or 0.00000001 BTC.

Cryptocurrencies are similar to gold in their characteristics - they have value and a finite supply. But unlike gold, cryptocurrencies can be divided into smaller pieces, making them more manageable and easier to spend.

The value of coins in circulation also depends on the number of decimal places. Some cryptocurrencies have only two decimal places, while others have eight. Bitcoin contains an extra zero at the end, so it has two more decimal places than Litecoin (eight) and four more than Dogecoin (six). Thus, the price of Dogecoin does not have to increase as much as Bitcoin or Litecoin to reach the same value.
