In honor of the 5th anniversary of Binance, the management of the exchange revealed important numbers
Since founding in July 2017, Binance exchange has made significant progress: the platform now has a user base of over 120 million people. The number of transactions processed by the BNB Chain network since 2020 has exceeded 2.4 billion (the network now has 1200+ projects). In terms of employees, the Binance team has become 200 times bigger. These numbers were shared by the head of the exchange, Changpeng Zhao, according to whom, over 5 years of operation, the platform “exceeded his wildest expectations”.
Other published indicators of the ecosystem:
- 1.7+ million crypto cards issued in the European region. The volume of payments on them is more than $2 billion;
- 17 million transactions worth $12 billion through Binance Pay;
- 600,000 weekly users of the Binance NFT Marketplace. The volume of IGO transactions amounted to $1 billion;
- Binance Earn number of users growth amounted to 1.2M in the first half of 2022 (from 3.7M to 4.9M).
In addition, Binance is actively involved in charity work and launches special fundraising programs. The exchange transferred 2.88 million BTC (~$52.24 billion), which went to the needs of nearly 2 million people.
Zhao also added that for the next 5 years, the platform will focus on creating and developing products that “deliver tangible benefits to people.” It is also planned to cooperate with regulators and help other industry players experiencing a “slight liquidity shortage”.
